I decided to model this marine. Have a look http://www.raph.com/3dartists/artgallery/imagePage?iid=6592 and the artist Vitally Bulgarov. It has his render of this same suit which he modeled.
It has been my inspiration for a while now so I thought I would compare my skills. I spent 5 hours on the polly modeling in Maya and soon to put it through MudBOX.
Just want to make it clear that I did not come up with the concept for this marine but used it as a little practice for myself as I thought it was quite epic. Vitally Bulgarov based his design on the StarCraft 2 Marine.

skinny police
I havnt modeled a highly stylized 3D character before so I thought I would have a go at making a skinny police man. He is on holiday and playing a bit of golf when all of a sudden someone stole his ball so he draws his gone on the guy. At the moment Im adding some detail and modeling his golf clubs and gun.

LOTR
I thought I would make an Troll character as homage to Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. I really have to start focusssing on the hands a little more, I like creating the form first. I gave him a bit of a dog leg instead of the bulky legs it has in Lord of the Rings.
Samurai
I call this the ugly samurai and it still needs a bit of work especially on the pants. I will texture it soon, but for now I have to get started on my third character. I will be trying to pump out one or two heroes/heroins every day until I get a job as a 3D artist :) So keep watching this blog as there will be many updates!

I wanted to look into Low polly modeling for game design. So I looked at Team fortress Models and wanted to recreate them as best I could. The main thing I found when modeling these characters was to keep the proportions as close to real life as possible but focus on small aspects, when dealing with creating the characteristics of the different characters.
